What are CMP Rigid Braces?
CMP Braces are rigid braces specifically designed to optimally control YOUR spinal curvature. CMP braces utilize Dr. Colliard's curve classification, responsible for defining the Corrective Movement Principle. The CMP family of braces are an option for those patients who are not candidates for SpineCor or those interested in a nighttime only brace.
The Corrective Movement Principle produces a curve specific, optimally focused, 3D Global Postural Correction/Overcorrection promoting:
- Normalization of Sagittal Spinal Balance
- Optimization of Coronal Spinal Balance
- Maximum De-Rotation
- Maximum Curve Opening
CMP Braces offer optimal in-braces curve reduction together with optimal spinal balance (coronal and sagittal). The combination of ultimate spinal alignment and spinal elongation changes spinal loading, creating optimal potential for true curve correction during growth.
CMP Night Brace is a scoliosis brace designed for part-time wear. It utilizes the same corrective movement principle in its design, but in common with other nocturnal part-time braces is designed specifically for recumbent wear only, achieving greater in-brace curve corrections than rigid full time braces.
CMP Lite Brace is a lighter weight, soft edged version of the Standard CMP Hypercorrective Brace. Its Soft/Rigid design follows the same Corrective Movement Principles used on other CMP Braces, however with less aggressive over-correction or even neutral correction if necessary. It is especially useful for patients with the challenges of Neuro-Muscular or Syndromic Scoliosis.
Recent advances in scanning 3D measurement technology and CAD (Computer Aided Design) software make the CMP Brace an affordable and accessible treatment option. The latest 7-axis robotic carvers are used in the fabrication of each individual patients' brace. Each brace is vacuum-formed from the highest quality medical grade HDPE Plastic and hand finished.
